19 October 2017 - Join us for Prof. Zehn Seminar, Takis/VITARES Education program
We are proud to host Prof. Dietmar Zehn and look forward to hearing about his research on T cells response.
Prof. Zehn is a professor at the Division of Animal Physiology and Immunology, at Technical University of Munich. His laboratory has been studying the mechanism and functions of T-cells exhaustion in chronic infections and tumors.
His research unravelled new important features of a subset of “exhausted” T-cells that share key markers with conventional memory T-cells. These memory-like T cells are capable of undergoing self-renewal while continuously generating terminally differentiated cells. Zehn and his group are investigating the possibility for a therapeutically induced re-expansion of such populations in chronic infections.
We are excited to learn about new strategies to more effectively engage T-cells response for prophylactic and therapeutic purposes!
